Each winter, Clean Lakes Alliance's Frozen Assets Festival brings people together to celebrate the beauty, fun, and connection of our frozen lakes. From ice skating and science booths to our Frozen 5K, the Festival is a highlight of the season. But right now, not everyone can safely take part in everything the Frozen Assets Festival has to offer. We are raising funds to install a safe, accessible ramp from The Edgewater pier down to frozen Lake Mendota, so everyone can join the fun on this icy landscape.
This ramp will provide equitable access for people using wheelchairs, mobility aids, strollers, and adaptive equipment, ensuring that everyone can fully experience this unique winter landscape.
Currently, steep steps and uneven transitions create barriers to access. Installing a ramp will:
- Make Frozen Assets more inclusive and welcoming
- Improve safety for all event participants
- Expand access to ice-based recreation for people of all ages and abilities
- Leave a lasting improvement that can be used for future winter events and seasons
Your donation will support the installation of the ramp for our event on Saturday, February 7th. Every contribution, large or small, helps ensure Frozen Assets truly lives up to its name by being a community event for everyone.
Please consider donating to and sharing this campaign. Together, we can open the ice and make winter accessible to all.
