A Mother's Pursuit of Justice in Protecting her Children
Donation protected
December 5,2024 -I absolutely hate that I’m even writing this. And, really it just all feels like a bad dream that we are all hoping to wake up from any moment. BUT, here I am, so here it goes….
This week our hearts were shattered when my friend’s daughter came forward with very serious allegations her dad has sexually assaulted her. Because of those allegations it has been a whirlwind of protection orders and now a huge legal battle to get full custody of both of her kids. It is going to cost her a lot of money to do this. DHS & Law Enforcement are currently investigating, though they did tell her to get an attorney immediately. We need all the help we can get. Thank you in advance! If you can't donate, please share and pray for these kids. They need them now more than ever.
**We are protecting the identities of the minor children involved. Though, as the charges become public, that may change.
Update: on 1/24/2025, based on their findings during an exhaustive investigation by Sioux City investigators, Winneshiek County Iowa officially filed charges and arrested the father. He was charged with a Class B Felony for sexual assault in the 2nd degree as her age was 12 when this happened. It carries up to 25 years in prison is he is found guilty. He is currently a LT with Sioux City Fire on PAID administrative leave. Court dates are unknown at this time.
1/28/2025 - Mom was granted full legal and physical custody of the minor children. They are currently protected by a criminal protection order that is carried with the case. However, she has been left with a hefty bill of over $10,000 for fighting for custody of her children. And unfortunately, she can't afford to go back to court to modify child support until she pays down her attorney bill. So, this is where we need your assistance. We need to get her the support she needs to take care of the children full time. And so you know, she is employed full-time working as a para working with autistic children. Getting a different job is not an option as she is close to her kids with the same hours for work and school and she is extremely passionate about the work she does and difference she makes in the lives of her students. Please consider helping her get past this hurdle. Anything will help. Thank you in advance!
