My name is Katherine, and I know a family that desperately needs financial help after a tragic death in India.
My friend’s name is Rihana, and her husband’s name is Imthiyaz Hussain. My friend and her husband Imthiyaz have lived in Toronto for fourteen years, raising two intelligent and beautiful children. Sadly, Imthiyaz was on a waitlist for a liver transplant in Canada but could not get one fast enough due to Covid. With his health declining rapidly, he decided to return to India to see if he could receive a new liver in time. Imthiyaz returned to India in December 2021, and Rihana and their daughters followed in mid-January 2022, only to have her husband pass away about one week after they arrived. This was devastating for the whole family.
Rihana and her daughters are currently stuck in India. Unfortunately, Rihana's husband, Imthiyaz, spent everything they had on his medical treatments, including money for travel and money that was supposed to be saved for the girls to go to school. Although Rihana and her oldest daughter are permanent residents in Canada and her youngest daughter is Canadian, they don’t have the funds to return home.
Rihana's daughters lost their father and have been cut off from their friends and the life they know in Canada. To keep up with their fellow classmates in Toronto, the children have been attending online from India until 2 a.m. It would be much better for them to return and rejoin their classes in person. The family hadn't planned for these unexpected medical procedures. Unfortunately, all of their savings had to go to these expenses and to support the family when they made the emergency trip to India.
Your help is needed to help Rihana and her daughters return to Canada, give them a fresh start, and help the girls finish this school year in Toronto!
