My name is Marianne (Mari) Barnes.
As many of you know my sister, Judy Iannone has been in the hospital since April 2021. After falling ill from Covid. Her journey has been heartbreaking, and with an unpredictable outcome. I am trying to raise funds to help her family with mounting medical bills.

On April 7th 2021, Judyth Iannone (Judy) went into the hospital with COVID 19. After a week there, she was sent home; she appeared to be on the mend. Within seven days, Judy was rushed back to the ER after becoming so weak she couldn’t stand. She was found to have a GI bleed, and flown to the first available hospital which is in Bethesda, MD. In a short time the GI bleed was under control but Judy's Covid pneumonia symptoms made her very ill, and she was put on a ventilator. She was placed in the ICU where she slipped into a coma. We were called in for a compassionate visit. But, Judy is strong and she fought her way back to us. However she was bed bound, very weak feeding tube was given to help her regain strength.
Over a few weeks she regained some strength but unfortunately suffered a pulmonary embolism, Judy again fought her way through that crisis but she was still unable to breathe with out the ventilator, so she was given a tracheotomy. Slowly they began to start to wean her from the ventilator. A decision was made to move her to a hospital in DC that specializes in weaning patients from ventilators.Judy was eventually able to come off the ventilator, but she still is dependent on oxygen. Her spirit is fierce, she has never lost her wit. Her visits are the highlight of my week.
Things started to look like she may be able to go home. But days later, she developed an infection that set her back again. She has since been moved to nother hospital, were it she has been diagnosed with bells palsy. At this time she needs to be sent to an acute nursing facility.
In November 2021 Judy’s Medicare reached its limits. Were not sure of the acute care nursing facility she will go to, but we want to try and bring her back to Carroll County. If you should find in your heart to help Judy's family with her mounting medical bills, they would be very grateful.
Prayers and positive thoughts are appreciated.
