De-Fibrillator fundraiser

Our goal has almost been reached. Please note that any additional/excess funds raised will be given to a yet to be decided charity so please also be aware, that no tax deductions are/will be possible.

As regular early morning and all year round swimmers, it occurred to me recently we did not have immediate access to a life-saving defibrillator with time being paramount in these situations.

https://aedauthority.com.au/ offered special pricing to the swimmers and I also requested a 'credit' for future replacements of the batteries as well as a replacement set of pads in the event the unit is used - the batteries and pads must be replaced in 4 years regardless.

The De-Fib is FULLY AUTOMATIC for adults and children and gives clear, easy to follow verbal instructions in the event it is needed. Here is a short video: https://youtu.be/o-uHeD4Icq0

Caffe de Lido has offered to keep the unit inside their premises where it will also be available for them in any emergency and Peter, the president of the PMSLC, has also offered a short session on CPR basics to the swimmers.

It would be great to have the comfort of knowing a unit is in close proximity, with the obvious aim of never having to need it and any support you can give would be great.

If we're over-funded, we will allocate any remaining funds to a local charity.
