But here’s the painful truth: because of his diagnosis, my dad has been denied life insurance by every company we’ve tried. He wants to take care of his own funeral expenses — because that’s the kind of man he is — but he simply can’t get approved. It’s a cruel reality that so many families like mine are forced to face while already grieving.
