Dear Friends of Matt and Jessica Duffy Molchen:
As many of you know, Jess and Matt were in the process of moving from California to Kentucky to help Jessica's dad as he recovers from open heart surgery. Matt's parents drove from the east coast west to help them with the move. On their way back east, Matt's folks were involved in an automobile accident. Matt's father, Harry, perished.
Matt witnessed the accident and ran to his parents vehicle where he held his father until EMS and police responded. Matt's mother was injured and taken to hospital with non-life threatning injuries but is, as you can imagine, devastated- inconsolable.
While it seems rather insignificant in light of the magnitude of this tragedy, Matt & Jess lost all their possessions in the accident, including all Jessica had belonging to her late mother, Claudia, who was also killed in an accident in April 2009.
To say that Matt & Jess are heartbroken, shattered really, is an understatement.
I know we're all praying for them, grieving with them and for them and wondering what we can do to help them- anything to ease their pain... believe me, I know money is not going to salve their grief or heal their hearts but it will give them space to breathe and allow them to regain their footing in the coming days. And it allows us, those of us who love them, a way to express our love and concern for them.
So if you are able, please pass this along and please donate as little or as much as you are able. I bless your good hearts for being the kind of friends who are there in the best of times and the worst of times and know that Jess and Matt will be forever grateful and will take comfort in knowing how much they mean to us.
