For those that know Heather, she has one of the biggest hearts a person could have and is always checking in on everyone and making sure everyone is okay. For a girl that’s been through so many hardships, she presents a smile and a BIG hug every time she sees you, not matter what’s going on. She is always there to help, and now this golden hearted, amazing woman needs our help.
In October, she started having pain and little feeling numbness tingling in her legs. She went to the doctor and they initially thought she may have had a stroke. When they confirmed it was not, they thought it may have been blood clots but it was determined that the pain and numbness was not being caused by either. After a month of waiting for clinics to open, she was finally able to go in and be seen by a neurologist, who also thought maybe it was caused by a stroke or MS. Both came back negative. She then had a CT scan, which showed a large mass pushing on her spine causing the pain and numbness going through her legs and feet. At that point, she was unable to return to work due to the weakness in her legs which had caused her to collapse and at times, not move her legs. Heather then had to have an MRI to see just how bad this was and how to plan on the next steps to resolve it. After doctors were able to evaluate, they advised that Emergency spinal surgery was needed immediately to prevent her from being paralyzed. The required procedure has alot of serious risks, including being paralyzed or death or internal bleeding, but the neusurgeon has been in business for almost 40 years so she’s hopeful that everything will go smooth and after her 8 hour surgery she can begin her 6 to 8 weeks of therapy and recovery.
With all of this, she is unable to work and will have a financial burden of not only losing her income, but having extra expenses because of the procedures she has to go through. This is where we can help and give her and her husband a little relief. If you are able, please give to Heather and David to relieve some financial stress while going through this difficult time. While we know she is a strong human, she will have more than enough to focus on to get better without worrying about finances.
She appreciates everyone’s support and love.
