10.16.25 Update
It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Katie earlier today. After a courageous, years-long battle, Katie left us surrounded by the love of her family and friends.

Katie taught us all so much about embracing life’s challenges, no matter how big or small, while finding joy in every possible moment. She fought her illness with remarkable strength, determination, and a “suck it up and go” mentality, always in planner mode, always thinking of others before herself. Her spirit was truly one-of-a-kind: carefree, compassionate, and endlessly generous. She loved music, dancing, sweets, traveling the world, learning and exploring new things, fall decor, all things fashion, and the deep bonds of family and friendship.

Above all, Katie lived for her family, her loving husband Daniel, her son Anderson, her parents, her brother, and all of her extended family. She was a devoted mother, fulfilling her dream of becoming a baseball, soccer and football mom, cheering Anderson on with immense pride and joy. Her love for her family was boundless, and her wisdom and warmth touched everyone she met.

It never feels fair when someone so good and so vital is taken from this world. Katie’s absence will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved her. But she will forever be with us in spirit. Her love has left an indelible mark on our hearts; she will continue to inspire us in every act, thought, and decision we make.

As we grieve this immense loss, we are also deeply grateful for the support, prayers, and generosity you have shown Katie and her family throughout this journey. Your kindness has been a source of strength and comfort, allowing them to focus on what truly mattered during the most difficult days. In the days and weeks ahead, your continued support will help ease the financial burdens Daniel and Anderson now face as they navigate life without Katie’s physical presence. If you are able, we invite you to contribute and to share this page with others who loved Katie and wish to honor her memory.

Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for walking this path with us, for lifting up Katie and her family, and for helping us celebrate the incredible life she lived.

With love and gratitude,
Katie's Care Team

***********************************************
Our dear friend Katie Ferrell has been courageously battling Stage 4 colon cancer since her diagnosis in November of 2019 - just 11 months after the birth of her son, Anderson. Over the last 4+ years she has faced countless treatments, hospital stays and challenges that have often kept her away from her beloved family and friends. Last year, Katie began a trial drug that showed some promise. Unfortunately, she recently received news that her cancer had returned. This kick started a long hospital stent in May where she underwent several procedures due to complications from prior treatments and the growing tumor. She is now undergoing radiation to help shrink the tumor and will likely need additional rounds of chemotherapy in the near future. Despite these hardships, she’s tackled this like an absolute warrior, with determination, optimism, strength, and her straightforward feistiness. While the road ahead is uncertain, her faith remains strong, and she is determined to keep fighting this fight.

Throughout this long and difficult journey, Katie has been lifted by the support and prayers of her friends, family and incredible community. We are turning to you all again, her extended network of support, to help alleviate some of the financial burdens that come with such a challenging battle. Medical bills, treatment costs and everyday expenses create an additional layer of stress for Katie and her family. We are asking for any donations big or small to help support them during this difficult time. Your generosity will help ease the financial strain, allow them to focus on what truly matters and provide them with some emotional comfort of knowing they are not along in this battle.

Thank you for the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, support and generosity.

With gratitude and hope,
Katie's care team
