Hello all, I was encouraged to share how you could help my family through this ordeal. Recently, I developed edema in my feet. My right foot punctured and got infected. The trauma caused a blood clot and it quickly developed gangrene. After consultations with specialists, the doctors amputated all of the toes on my right foot. I am at peace and will need to make some major adjustments. I think one of the things I worry about is the deductible and medical costs. The timing sucks because it's at the end of the year. Everything renews in January. The 11 days in the hospital, plus 3 days are going to max me out. However, it'll be another $8000 next year as I work on rehabilitation and follow-ups.
