My dearest Sistar Sefana is living through every parents darkest night as she navigates a grief that is Unfathomable.

Isa her 15 year old son and her only child has left this earth before he was able to fully allow his sacred journey to unfold. The night before his 16th birthday he was found at home unconscious and his Mother proceeded alone to try to revive him.

Sefana was a single Mom and Isa was her heart. As she faced her nightmare her son passed away In front of her eyes.

Sefana is a bright light within many communities and holds sacred spaces for those in need as an ongoing service. She studies, she dedicates, and she has a variety of skills that she lovingly brings to those blessed to know her.

While there was a go fund me created to cover the costs of the funeral services, I am creating this additional Go fund me so she may have some time to grieve without the pressure of having to make sure she has her basic needs met.

This is a selfless woman who just recently held a circle for over 200 people with grace, dignity, and honor. May we come together at this time to now surround her with our financial offerings to allow her time to begin the long Grieving process of loosing her only son. May she feel a small amount of the light that she brings to this world so beautifully wrapped around her as a golden embrace of support.

Her son was a son of all of our heart’s his music, humor, and beauty touched so many lives in the short amount of time we were honored to know him. May his journey be laden with our prayers and May his Mother be lifted of her financial burden to begin her journey to lay her son to rest.

This week will prove to be one of the hardest of any parents journey as she must navigate the funeral plans, his cremation, and the energy that she must harness to anoint her son’s body and prepare him for his final resting place.

Please honor her whether you know her or if you have a child that you hold with all of your heart and are blessed to continue to watch grow, flourish, and love. With compassion, may we shower her with our abundance and our Prayers.

From Sefana:
Dear friends and family...
I'm so sad to share tragic news with you...
Yesterday in the early hours of the morning... on the day before his 16th birthday... my sweet beautiful son Isa's young life came to an end.

My heart is shattered.

Fentanyl STOLE his beautiful life

We all believe it was an accident because he was excited to celebrate his 16th birthday today and be with his partner and friends. He had a job and was making plans to go to PCC-gateway to college. He looked forwards to getting his driver's license and was really taking steps to move forwards in life. He had spent the previous day hanging out with his friends and was in good spirits.

Unfortunately the grip of Opiods had a hold on him. And even though it seemed like he was doing so very much better... he was struggling in secret with his substance abuse. He had just learned to hide it better.

I woke up in the early morning with a feeling like I needed to check in on him. I went to his room and found him blue and not breathing. I gave him 4 narcan(anti-opioid) and performed CPR until the paramedics arrived. I was alone

I had so many hopes and dreams for him and fought so hard to keep him safe and protected.

Unfortunately our system is incredibly broken and the laws tie the hands of parents.

Children are given full medical autonomy at 14 and I could not make him do treatment without his consent.

It's pretty infuriating that Oregon is number 1 in the nation of teen deaths from overdose and yet parents aren't able to help their children.

There needs to be an exception to the rule and when children are suffering from severe mental health and Substance abuse... it should be clear that they need help!

I prayed so hard and loved him as much as I possibly could. I let him know that I was here to support him and tried my best to understand what drove his substance abuse.

He struggled with anxiety and I got him a prescription of zoloft upon his request.

I tried to be a pillar of love

I did all I could and knew how to.

And yet my worst nightmare came true.

It's still hard to believe.

I'm struggling with grief and PTSD.

Thank you to all those who have carried me and walked by my side while I've fought for my son's life. All those who gave me hope and solutions.

I had hoped to see him get through to the other side of this.

This will be a long road of healing for my mama heart

Isa was such a beautiful bright soul and loved by MANY!

I want to honor and celebrate his life and will keep everyone updated in regards to memorial service and plans. Thank you for witnessing this loss.

The world won't be the same without you habibi. I'm so very sorry that we lived at a time and place when it's so very dangerous to be a teenager

According to the center for disease control. Between 2019 and 2023 the rate of teen death overdoses in Oregon has gone up 666%. That's no joke.

If that isn't blatantly evil, I don't know what is.

And opioid overdose is the number 1 cause of death under the age of 50 in the nation.

Please protect your babies, educate them and most important of all...

LOVE THEM FIERCELY

keeping a connection to your child is more important than any grade at school or disagreements.

I miss you so very much my baby
I wish I could do ANYTHING and EVERYTHING to change things.

I wish I could go back in time and love you 10 billion times more than I did.

I love you my beautiful boy
