Homeless Family Housing
Donation protected
I had noticed my older brother leaving early on Saturday mornings. I asked what he was up to and he told me he had been taking his friends mother to the grocery. Her car had broken down and they couldn't afford to fix it. Odd, I thought. My neighbors Dad had been a lawyer. We lived in a nice neighborhood near Prospect. This is when the face of homelessness changed for me forever.
That day I learned that my neighbors house was being foreclosed on and the Dad had suffered from alcoholism and left them. She had been a stay at home mom caring for her teenage son with special needs. They had no extended family and no church. They had nowhere to go. I watched as my big, strong 17 year old brother cried to my mother and begged her to help his friend. So, that day we took in our neighbors.
Our service group would like to raise enough money to help jumpstart this family back into a home of their own. We are trying to raise enough money for first and last months rent and a small moving truck. Please donate any amount you can.
