Help Remas, 9, Fight a Brainstem Tumour
Updated: April 15, 2026
I’m Roleen, currently living in Canada, and I am writing this from Canada as both Remas’s cousin and someone working in healthcare. I never imagined I would be asking the world for help like this, but today, I am.
Remas is a bright, loving 9-year-old whose life changed overnight. She should be in school, playing with her friends, laughing, and living a normal childhood. Instead, she is fighting for her life against one of the most aggressive brain tumours known in medicine.
Where Things Stand Now
Location: Remas has been in the West Bank since December 15, 2025, immediately after radiation therapy.
Treatment: She began radiation therapy on October 27, 2025, immediately after her biopsy results.
Biopsy: Alhamdulillah, her biopsy went well.
Pathology confirmed a Diffuse Midline Glioma, H3 K27-altered (WHO Grade 4), an aggressive malignant brainstem tumour also known as DIPG/DMG.
It affects vital centers for movement, balance, consciousness, and breathing.
Current Plan: Palliative care locally
Doctors have now told the family that no further treatment options are available where she is.
But we cannot accept that without trying everything.
What Has Happened Since
Despite treatment, Remas’s condition has declined rapidly.
In just a matter of months, she has lost:
- her ability to speak
- most of her vision
- the ability to walk
- the ability to eat or swallow normally
- her independence entirely
She now depends on full-time care for everything.
Her most recent MRI shows that the tumour is continuing to grow and spread within her brainstem, with new complications including hydrocephalus (fluid buildup in the brain).
Her parents are not just reading medical reports.
They are watching their daughter slowly fade in front of them.
Why We Are Still Fighting
I understand what this diagnosis means medically.
But I also know that sometimes, the difference between “nothing more can be done” and “there is still something” comes down to access.
We are actively trying to:
- obtain international case reviews
- access clinical trials (including ONC201 and immunotherapy options)
- explore compassionate-use treatments
- secure medical sponsorship or transfer to a specialized center (Canada or elsewhere)
Right now, the biggest barrier is not willingness.
It is access, coordination, and the lack of a pathway.
Why We Need Your Help
- Medical care in the West Bank is extremely limited.
- Access to advanced care outside the region is complicated, expensive, and often restricted.
Your support will help cover:
- Hospital and medical expenses
- Medications and supportive care
- Travel between Palestine and Jordan for follow-ups
- Emergency transfers if a hospital accepts her
- Housing and basic living costs during treatment
- Any opportunity for international care or clinical trials
Even when treatment is no longer curative, care still matters, comfort still matters, and dignity still matters.
Her Family
Her parents have given everything.
Her father returned to Palestine and is working tirelessly to support her care, despite unstable income and delayed wages. Her mother is by her side every moment, caring for her through unimaginable pain.
They are not asking for a miracle.
They are asking for a chance to say they did everything possible for their daughter.
And while she is still here, we cannot stop trying.
If you cannot donate, please share this page and pray for Remas and her family. Every share expands the circle of help; every prayer brings them strength.
If love alone could cure her, Remas would already be healed.
But right now, love needs help.
She is still here.
And while she is still here, we cannot stop trying.
She needs the world’s help now. Every donation, every share, and every prayer gives her another chance to live, to laugh, and to be held without pain.
Privacy & Fund Handling
For privacy and safety, I’ve limited the family’s personal details, but verification can be provided privately upon request.
All donations are sent directly to her parents via Western Union or paid to verified hospital invoices to support her ongoing treatment in Jordan.
As of today, April 15, 2026, we have raised a total of $6,298 CAD, which continues to cover rent and hospital bills. Her family is deeply grateful to every single person who has donated, shared, or prayed for her.
Please continue to pray for Remas’s comfort and for her family to have sabr (patience) and strength in God during this unimaginably painful time.
We are forever thankful for your kindness, generosity, and compassion.
If you would like more information or updates, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
God bless you all.
