Can you help Damien to get back home and living independently?

Damien is a 54 year old man, who is married to his wife Maura with four children Anthony, Keely Jack and Emily. Damien has worked as a plasterer for the past 30 plus years.

Damien was always such a hard working man, who would do anything that was asked of him and was always willing to help anyone the best he could.

Unfortunately on the 4th April 2024 Damien sustained a life changing spinal cord injury while at work. He was immediately brought to University Hospital Limerick and that evening was transferred to the Mater Hospital in Dublin. On the 5th April 2024 he underwent surgical fixation of the fracture from the T-10-L2 vertebrae. After spending a week in the Mater Hospital he was then transferred back to UHL and spent several weeks while awaiting a bed in National Rehabilitation Hospital (NRH)

Damien was transferred to NRH on 30th May 2024 and is undergoing intense physiotherapy sessions working as hard as possible to get back home.

Damien is on a continuous path to recovery which requires vital equipment. The list includes mobility equipment, accommodation adaptations and ongoing medical treatment. It is all essential for Damiens day to day living.

The funds raised will be used towards all of the above which is essential for Damien coming home. The donations will be managed by myself, Keely (daughter). Updates will be given over time. 

Now we find ourselves in a situation as Damien always believed that he would be recovered and back working within a few weeks but this is not the situation now.
