BreighAnna "Bre" has been diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer, officially called invasive ductal carcinoma. We won't know if it's stage 4 until a PET scan is complete. Bre is 26 years old and strong. She has a little boy, Asher who is 3 who is his mother's shadow. He is the light of her EYE! This time is so stressful and there is much anxiety and worry. Bre is working as much as possible because at this point, she knows a double mastectomy is what is needed and she was told by Medica that her primary which is Minnesota Fairview would be covered. So all these tests that were done at Fairview and her doctor visits up until now are not going to be covered. Her type of cancer is genetic and she advices to see a genetic counselor in the next month to see if she carries gene. If she does, then that means Brooke, her sister, and Asher, her son, should also be tested for the gene. Doctor recommends full mastectomy, followed by radiation, and/or chemotherapy.

 

If you are able, it would be appreciated beyond measure if you could help Bre during this time. She has so many appointments that she has missed work a lot and once she has her mastectomy, we don't know how long she will be out of work, especially with radiation and/or chemotherapy. Bre has over 21K in uninsured medical bills from Minnesota Fairview and  Bre would uses the money for  that 21K and for her $8700 medical deductible with Medica, new tires, rent, diapers and clothes for her growing boy Asher, food, gasoline for the long road trips to Maple Grove and all her appointments for infusions, chemo, radiation, etc., monthly bills, student loans, auto payment, car insurance, and medical bills.
