Zues came to The Dapper Dog for boarding on June 12, 2024, and was going to stay until July 12, 2024. As Time went on, the owner continued to push out his departure date. With very little contact from the owner, Zues became very close to Greg Stallings and The Dapper Dog faculty. After months of caring for Zues, he was settled in after 9 months, finally, the owner was not willing to settle Zues's 6000.00 boarding services and surrendered him. We believed that he deserved a good, loving Forever HOME! After meeting with some potential people, Zues went with a couple.
Within a month of being in his new home. The Dapper Dog received a call from Detroit Animal Control, they had him. Zues was brought back to our care the next day (Monday, April 28th). Zues was so underweight as if he had been starved. He lost 12 lbs. he was a rack of bones. We have no idea what happened to him while he was gone. We knew it would take some time to nurture him back to health; however, he was unable to keep any food down, and he became lethargic. We took him straight away to Pet Care Plus in Davison. the blood work and X-ray told us he has an infection and a possible foreign body in his stomach, and surgery is a must, and asap. We have been quoted 2200.00 -3200.00 for the surgery.
This unexpected veterinary crisis leaves us facing a significant financial burden. Every penny raised will go directly towards Zues's life-saving surgery and subsequent recovery care, ensuring he receives the best possible treatment and a chance at a truly happy, healthy future. Your generosity will not only save Zues but will also demonstrate the power of compassion and community in supporting animals in need. Thank you for your consideration and support.
