In Memoriam of Tal Levy

Dear friends,
It has been over two years since our dear friend Tal Levy passed away. Since his passing, many of Tal’s close friends wanted to do something meaningful to honor his memory. After some deliberation, we’ve decided to help fundraise in his honor. As most of us know, Tal maintained constant pride in his Jewish identity. We therefore want to create a charity in his memory that will help spread the holy teachings of the Torah (Bible)
In the Torah (Bible) in the book of Devarim (Deuteronomy) there is a verse that states, “Therefore, write down this poem and teach it to the people of Israel; put it in their mouths.” The ancient commentators explain that this verse refers to a positive commandment to write/purchase Jewish books that can be taught to future generations of the Jewish people.
A. great opportunity came to us, a synagoge we are close with is in the midst of rebuilding their library. In honor of Tal’s memory, we would like to contribute to the expansion of the Beit Midrash/library at Silver Spring Jewish Center/Ahavas Yisroel. This project includes buying sepharim/books. This gives us an opportunity to memorialize Tal and elevate his soul in Heaven. We therefore are creating a GoFundMe to help raise money for the library in Tal’s honor.
All proceeds will be used for the Beit Midrash/library expansion and to supply funds for the sepharim/books. Additionally, each book that is bought using these funds will have a dedication sticker inside with Tal’s name.
May this charity elevate Tal’s soul in Heaven, and merit good fortune for humanity.
