Fundraiser for Shannon Shea

Donation protected

Its been almost a week since my sister Shannon, had a major stroke, that affected her brain stem.Today she is starting to get better and she is moving out of New Britain Hospital and going to Hartford Inpatient Rehabilitation center. I want to thank everyone again for their thoughts and prayers!  Shannon is loved by so many!  ❤️ On Monday, December 30th, Shannon started feeling dizzy and lightheaded, she started losing her vision and she called 911 where they rushed her to the hospital.  Once at the hospital, they found her blood pressure to be very very high. and they had to give her several doses of medicine to lower it before they could give her the medicine to break up the blood clot that was in the brain stem. We thank god and her guardian angels, they were able to stabilize her enough to give her that medicine in time. She was then transferred to New Britain, where they ran more tests.  They said they no longer saw the clot. However, they do see damage to the nerves where it was. It’s still too early to know what damage is going to be permanent and what’s going to come back. We are all praying and believing that she will be 100% again. Right now, she is having numbness on the right side of her body and she’s still very dizzy as her eye isn’t working correctly. The doctors said that her heart muscle is thicker than normal because it’s been working too much, for too long. They believe she’s had high blood pressure for a long time and no one caught it.  We are waiting for blood work to come back to have some more answers and rule out any blood diseases.

Most people know my sister very well and know her story, for those of you who do not, I just want to say she’s amazing! She’s such a strong woman, and an incredible single mother. Tristan, her son is 10 years old and he is her life, the two of them deserve so much love and light. My sister’s been raising my nephew on her own since his father passed away and I’m so proud of her!

It’s going to be awhile before she’s back to work, and bills add up quickly with no income. I don’t want her to have to worry about how to pay for rent, lights, dog food, etc. I’d love for her to just be able to focus on healing and getting stronger!

I’ve put this page together to try and help alleviate some of the burden of financial stuff for her. The less stress she has to worry about, the better, and the faster she gets to go home to her son, and animals! They miss her like crazy!
