Help Juan's Family and Children

Hello, my name is Maritza Cabrera.

In loving memory of my beloved brother, Juan Ignacio Cabrera, we are coming together to celebrate his life and ensure he receives the farewell he deserves. On June 15th our world was shattered when Juan tragically took his own life, leaving behind 2 young children. I am starting this GoFundMe to honor him and support his children, Amie and Jaiden, as they navigate the difficult journey ahead.

My brother Juan’s life was full of ups and downs. He battled with addiction and depression for over 10 years but was on the path to recovery, showing signs of improvement. He fought hard and gave it all that he could. Despite his struggles, my brother had an infectious laugh and a wild sense of humor. As our oldest sibling he left us with a lot of great memories like the many times we all went hiking together in the year 2020. Despite his situation he made time to bond with us. We are still in disbelief that he is gone. Sadly, we can’t help but feel hopeful that this is all one big misunderstanding and as the days go by we still hope he will come home so we can all make each other laugh again. Due to the long process we still have not been allowed to see his body, but all of the signs and descriptions that they have been giving us point to the fact that it is him and he is not coming home.

We want to make sure that Juan receives a memorial that he deserves. We are aiming for $30,000 total for Juan and his family. $20,000 will cover the funeral proceedings and the rest will go towards his children, Amie and Jaiden.

That's why we humbly reach out to our community, friends, and kind-hearted individuals who may have been touched by Juan's presence. Your generous support will help ease the financial strain and allow us to give my brother the farewell he deserves. Any contribution, no matter how small, will go directly towards funeral expenses and memorial services.

In addition to providing a memorial, your donations will go towards Juan’s children, Amie and Jaiden. We hope to raise money for their education, health, and emotional needs as they navigate life without their beloved father. My brother left this world too soon and he will be dearly missed. Debido al largo proceso, aún no nos han permitido ver su cuerpo, pero todas las señales y descripciones que nos han dado apuntan a que es él y que no regresará a casa.
