My name is Eyad Hisham Mattar and I am from Gaza. I am a 25 year old married man with a 2 year old son. I used to be a football player and owned a commercial store.

‎‏After 100 days of war, we were displaced from our Khan Yunis home when our home came under bombardment. We went to the Al Mawasi town to live in tents after the occupation told us it would be a safe place.

‎‏After two weeks of displacement, in the stillness of the night while we were sleeping, we woke up to the sound of random shells and fled without taking anything. We fled on foot to another displacement area, with a new struggle and a new tale of hardship.

‎‏After the withdrawal of the occupation from our homes, we went to see what happened there and everything was devastated by the war along with my home, my memories, my work, my dreams, my goals, literally everything. I barely recognized my house or what was left of it.

‎‏After all this suffering we have endured, we only hope to find a way to get out of Gaza, to save our lives, and to protect my small family (my wife and my child), my parents, and to protect my son from fear, panic, and psychological destruction.
