Hi, my name is Callum. I'm 15 years old, in year 10 of school.
I have signed up to take part in a 4 week expedition to Cambodia in July 2027 with Camps International.
Cambodia remains one of the poorest countries in the world. Many rural areas in Cambodia struggle with food shortages and limited job opportunities, leading to ongoing poverty.
During the expedition we will work closely with rural Cambodian communities to support community development.
I'll be actively involved in projects aimed at community development. From constructing water storage pots to refurbishing schools, every effort will make a meaningful difference.
We will then take part in a 5 day trek through the vibrant Cambodian jungle, before having the opportunity to visit Angkor Wat and Siem Reap.
We will them arrive at our next camp, where we'll spend around 6 days. While in this camp we will get stuck into some environmental focused project work. This could include reforestation using native saplings and planting cash crops for the community that are both sustainable, and provide an income to the local people.
During the expedition I am looking forward to meeting local Cambodian people and communities. I am eager to be able to do something good to help and hopefully make a difference to the lives of the local people both now and in the future. I am hoping to learn about different cultures and ways of life. I'm sure it will make me be more grateful and appreciate what I have more!
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone of my age and I cant wait!
To fund the expedition we are asked to fundraise for the cost of my expedition. I would be really really thankful for any help or donations you can give to help get me on the expedition.
Thankyou so much, Callum.
