On March 10, 2023, our friend Cable Guess was severely injured when a taxi driving 50mph without breaking crashed into the back of his Uber ride, leaving him paralyzed from the neck down.

At the moment of impact, his body was jolted forward and his head hit the ceiling of the car which led to a serious spinal cord injury. Cable was going through the midtown tunnel with his boyfriend, Paul, who had to lift his motionless body out of the Uber to rush him to Bellevue hospital, where he has been lying in the intensive care unit since that night. We are praying for his recovery every day, and he continues to fight as he waits to be placed into physical therapy.

If you know Cable you know his loving heart, his infectious laugh and his love for life. He is hardworking and has always been a large part of the community, always caring for others.

Cable was a dedicated employee at The Rosemont in Brooklyn NY, conducting manual labor, on his feet, for hours at a time. We currently do not know the timeline of when he will get mobility back in his body, so until further notice he will be unable to earn any income.
