Replace stolen flute
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Eduardo Fajardo and I need some help. I am graduating from George Mason University with a degree in flute performance. This fall, I will be attending Peabody Conservatory to begin working towards a Masters of Music degree. Recently, my flute was stolen. Despite working with the police and investigating as much as possible, the flute has yet to be found.
Music has been my saving grace. I absolutely adore being in music and have been working very hard in order to ensure that it remains in my life. Financially, I have been on my own since the beginning of my undergraduate studies. As a first generation Salvadoran American, I have had to come to terms with there not being many people who do what I do, especially in the community where I grew up.
This year, I was finally able to afford some health insurance after not having any for 5 years. I have been working multiple jobs while enrolled as a full time student, but it has only been able to cover groceries, rent, tuition, and school supplies. I am currently working towards paying for a root canal. With my flute gone, I do not know how I can pay for all of my needs and finance a new flute.
I have had much success as a flutist thus far. Within the past year, I have played professionally with the Fairfax Symphony Orchestra as a substitute Principal Flutist, the Second Flutist of the American Festival Pops Orchestra, a soloist with the George Mason University Symphony Orchestra as a 2022 Concerto Competition Winner, a prize winner of the New Jersey Young Artist Competition, performed for Cristina Jennings as a winner of the Mid-Atlantic Flute Convention Guest Artist Masterclass Competition, and received a full scholarship to attend the Marina Piccinini International Masterclasses.
Any funds received will go directly towards purchasing a new flute. Thank you for your time and generosity in securing a new flute for my career.
