Hi! My name is Hilary. I am currently a Senior in the Bachelor's Degree Program at Eastern WA University. A few days ago I found out that I was accepted into a Master of Music Education with an emphasis on Autism Studies. It is the only program of it'

s kind in the country, no other college has it. For 8 years now I have been teaching piano lessons to individuals with learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities and developmental delays. I am currently writing my Senior Theisis on how Aural Skills and Sight Singing helps people to be able to read music. I am on the Autism Spectrum and I am also a Military Veteran. Getting into this program means that I will be able to further develop my ideas. The cost of the program means that I will be working multiple jobs, applying for scholarships as well as student loans to cover the cost. This opportunity is truly groundbreaking and will put me in a position to be able to gain more insight into working with individuals with disabilities. I am truly grateful for anyone who wants to help make this a possibility.
