Bill and Marilyn Skelding Need Our Support!!!
Donation protected
As some of you may already be aware our Dad, Bill Skelding, was admitted to Soldiers' Memorial Hospital in Orillia on Tuesday March 9th, 2021.
One month prior, Dad had completely lost his voice in the span of two weeks and had been having difficulty breathing which resulted in two trips to the emergency department by ambulance.
After visits with his family doctor and a Ear Nose and Throat Specialist it was discovered that Dad has a tumour in his throat near his vocal cords.
At that time a tracheotomy surgery was scheduled to relieve his respiratory distress while a diagnosis/treatment plan was determined. Due to the type of blood thinners he is on it postponed the surgery date.
Therefore, the doctors decided to put Dad in an induced coma to wait out the time it took for his blood thinners to get out of his system and they didn't want him to suffer through any more breathing emergencies.
The tracheotomy surgery was performed on March 16th and went well. During the surgery they took biopsies and have sent them away.
Biopsy results are still pending and we will provide an update when they are received.
Dad has a long road ahead, so we have started this gofundme campaign to ease the financial burden on our parents during this difficult time and allow them to focus on what matters most.
