John Shrader, age 54, was a happy, family man. He and his wife Theresa, married for over twenty years, have a son entering high school and they take care of his aging mother. John went into the hospital to have a knee replacement on July 19, 2019. His doctor was pleased with how it went. After being released from the hospital and going home, his leg started to bleed. Theresa rushed him back to the hospital where he started having seizures and had to be intubated. His heart stopped and it took the medical team 5/6 minutes to restart it. He never regained consciousness.
John was moved to a coma center where it was hoped he would make a recovery. Sadly, he did not. Five of those days in the facility were not covered by insurance. The facility cost $2,000 per day. John died on September 24, 2019. He was a disabled veteran. He served in the Navy as a corpsman and alongside Marines. John had told Theresa in the past, he never wanted a funeral, but wanted a celebration of his life. In this time of grief, John's family should not have to worry about financial burdens. Let's help a wonderful family in a time of need raise money to pay for John's medical costs and memorial. Thank you for anything you can give. Every dollar helps this deserving family.
