Hello friends! We are a modest animal sanctuary in Brazil and we currently help 24 dogs. Twelve of them live here and most of them are senior dogs who need constant visits to the vet. The one in the picture is Alfred, a senior I rescued from a slum two years ago. He was famished, sick, and in excrutiating pain from bad teeth. It took months for him to recover and for me to gain his trust, but now he lives his best puppy life.

Sarah, Bunny, Sunny, George, Alecrim, Snoopy, Melinda, Hope, Zeke and 6 other doggies were rescued from that same horrific place. But some were rescued from abusive tutors, dump sites, other slums, and 9 were rescued from a laboratory in 2012 (6 beagles and 3 beagle mix). One of those beagles, D'Artagnan, is still with us. He's deaf and blind though and needs a special hypoallergenic food and an expensive pill called Apoquel.

All this has caused me to be debt-ridden, for I tried to save their lives, but also provide them with the best food and vet care possible. Over the years, that has included physiotherapy, surgeries, dentals, hospitalization, and periodical vet appointments.

I'm asking for help to pay for their food because it has lately become overwhelming for me to care for all of them. And yet, I'm the only person they have.

I spend US$700.00 in food every month. Yearly that amounts to US$8400.00, something I can no longer afford.
