My name is Morgan and I have a disease called Osteogenesis Imperfecta, which makes my bones brittle and causes me to use a motorized wheelchair. Unfortunately, I was struck by a vehicle while in a crosswalk in downtown Richmond in December 2021. I fractured my arm, pulled several muscles in my legs, and wrecked my wheelchair beyond repair. Due to complications from my disease, my arm has been slow to heal and will require further splinting and/or surgery. My arms are essentially my legs- without the use of my left arm, I am fully reliant on my Dad, who has had to take unpaid leave from work for the duration of my recovery.
I have fought very hard to live independently despite my physical challenges while pursuing a PhD in Counseling Psychology. Any donations collected will be used to help me return to that independent life and reimburse my Dad’s missed wages. Any money that is not used will be donated to the Osteogenesis Imperfecta Foundation.
