Support Sandra's Recovery Journey

Hi, I'm Sandra. On Monday, April 28th, I was in a traumatic, life-threatening car accident. I broke my left hand and the vertebrae in my lower back. Some man entering the highway cut me off getting off the on-ramp. I hit the cement divider of the highway going 60 mph. I was sent to a level 1 trauma hospital. It was the most terrifying experience of my life. When it happened, the pain in my back kept me from being able to breathe properly.

After being in the hospital, they sent me home with home health aides, nurses, and physical and occupational therapy coming to my home to care for me. My husband also has to take unpaid time off to help care for me. I have to purchase some medical equipment and furniture to be cared for properly, to set up my home so I can get around, adaptive equipment to do things for myself, and the equipment will help me be able to stay in my home instead of a rehab facility. Some of this money will make up for my husband's lost wages. If you cannot donate, please share this.

My daughter is going to prom and graduating. I want to be able to stay home and at least be able to witness my daughter doing these things. Please help if you can. My whole life changed in one second. I could have died. I will also need counseling to deal with this traumatic event.
