For the past year, Mike has been battling various health issues and was just starting to return to work and regain his energy when, on Monday, 1/29, he suffered a brain (cerebellum) hemorrhage. Since his emergency craniotomy, he has been under the care of the neuro ICU team at Beth Israel in Boston. Tricia's parents, Mary and Tim, are in town as a first level of support and their amazing village of local friends have been supporting them with meals/groceries, playdates for the kids, and emotionally, as they juggle the “new normal” of their daily life.
In addition to the physical and emotional stress of this journey, there is a significant level of new financial stress. The path before them is long, and there are many unknowns. Mike's income will be reduced while on PFMLA and potentially long-term disability. Tricia’s current role is on a consulting basis and has no PTO, and has/will
need to reduce her working hours at times to be present for Mike, the kids, and cope with the mental load of this unexpected chapter. There also are countless new expenses each day including medical bills and a potential to need to move to a more accessible home in the long term.
Please consider supporting them in this time of extreme hardship. We would like nothing more than to ease the burden of the financial stress. We are so grateful to their local village for their invaluable love and support. As their large community of family and friends near and far, let's cover them in love, prayer, and support so their energy can be focused on one another.
