On Monday, August 26, 2019, My friend Stephanie and I were trimming tall bushes from up high and cleaning up her yard, when she stepped off the roof onto an awning to get down. Unfortunately, the wood awning failed and came crashing down, sending Stephanie 12 feet to the concrete floor and the wood awning landing on top of her!!!! I pulled the dense canopy off her and found her seriously injured underneath.
After assessing the situation, by Stephanie's sheer willpower fighting through the pain, we managed to get her into my car and to the nearest emergency room. (She only thought her foot was hurt!!! )
Fast forward 12 hours later.....
She was assessed twice, as what she thought was just a foot injury, bruises and nail marks turned out to be much more severe. Her left leg started swelling. She was admitted to the hospital with multiple fractures. Multiple bones in the RIGHT heel were crushed, which is called calcaneal fractures, and two breaks on the tibia behind her LEFT knee! Which means both of her legs are BROKEN and absolutely no weight bearing on her legs, ie, being immobile.

Steph was released after 4 days in the hospital to go home to rest and let the swelling go down in the right ankle and foot before surgery had to be performed. During her heel reconstruction surgery, they had to screw the remaining bone back together and build it back up with a synthetic bone. The doctor also found an infection deep in her ankle area, that he had to drain with another incision, which made the surgery longer and more invasive. Which now adds more pain and recovery time for her wounds.

Stephanie is now unable to walk for months as all the bones in both legs need to heal. She can only get around by wheelchair for small amounts of time. No putting any weight or stress on either leg is imperative for a full recovery!!! She will require many months of physical therapy, too, after the bones and heal are strong enough. Needless to say, Stephanie will not be able to return to work for the foreseeable future due to her injuries and recovery time.

I am asking for your support during her recovery. Stephanie is usually a force of nature, very capable of doing just about anything. She is a good friend and doesn't hesitate to help those in need. If you know her well or not, one thing you can say about my dear friend Stephanie is she is always there for others!! I am hoping to help her now in her time of need.
Insurance, as we all know, will not cover many needs during this trying time. All donations will be used wisely to pay for medical bills, household expenses/upkeep & personal care. This has already been a tough year for the whole family. Please feel free to forward this to anyone that you think can help.
Any donation will help Stephanie and her family out immensely!!!
Thank you all,
blessings & much love ......
