My name is Roxie (Sunny) Jones and I set this page up 1 month ago for my grandson Brandon Kane Cramer of Ashdown, Arkansas.
Tomorrow, July 7, will be 1 year since the date of Brandon's accident. He was 16 years old when he tried to avoid hitting a deer, flipped his truck and hit a tree. He has been in a skilled nursing facility 11 months and remains in a minimal state of consciousness (he can open/close his eyes).
Brandon loved life and counted everyone as his friend. He was very active in sports, hunting and fishing. He loved everyone he met and was always willing to help others any way he could.
Brandon understands what is being said to him but is unable to respond. It's like he is locked inside his body and can't get out.
Recently Brandon met his newborn baby sister Brooklynn Roxana and, when he saw her, tears flowed from his eyes. He also has two younger brothers, Cameron-11 and Tripp 1 1/2.
We have been told that the only hope we have for Brandon's damaged brain cells to grow new brain cells is through stem cell treatments. The stem cells and cord blood was harvested at his baby sisters birth. The treatments are done in San Diego, CA and cost $30,000.00. Insurance of any type will not cover this procedure. We live in Arkansas so just getting to CA will be a challenge but a challenge we are hoping to get the chance to take on with the help of donations and Prayers. If there is any way possible you can help Brandon to "return" to us, we would appreciate it. Also, your prayers would be appreciated. We still have a long way to go before we reach the goal set for Brandon's treatments but, with the help of wonderful people and with God's help, we will be on our way to San Diego for treatments before too long. This is my prayer.
