Help The Hughes Family

My name is Lacey Herbert and I have been a lifelong friend of the Hughes Family. I am creating this Go Fund Me to help alleviate some financial stress that they will be experiencing over this upcoming year. If you do not like to donate to Go Fund we understand and ask that you contact Lacey or Rae Lynn's friend Allison to discuss other ways of donating!

Justin Hughes is a 2007 New Phila graduate, husband, and father of 3. Justin was recently diagnosed with a rare and serious condition in his hips that is so severe, he is going to have to have 2 major surgeries on both hips at separate times. He is expected to have his first surgery at the end of February, and it will leave him non-weight bearing for up to 12 weeks and then the recovery process. He will then have to repeat this process and start all over to do the second hip. Appx time from start to end til he’s literally back on his feet from both surgeries and back to a healthy state will be about 12-18 months.

Leading up to this discovery Justin was not working and has been unemployed since the summer of 2020 in order to study, take, and pass multiple exams to get necessary licensures required to work and open a non-profit for himself in the state of Ohio. He was successful in passing the Ohio Bar Exam in February of 2022 and successfully completed and passed 2/4 CPA exams. Unfortunately things came to a halt due to his disabling circumstances.

Not only has this condition taken a huge toll on his physical health but also his mental health, and at this point, he feels like and truly has no real quality of life. Justin has not been able to hold his newborn baby girl and is currently disabled from the excruciating pain. If this isn’t enough, his wife Rae Lynn underwent a procedure during her most recent pregnancy to remove a cancerous bladder tumor. With all the stress and pain, he has voluntarily committed himself to seek the mental help that he needs and currently is in the hospital.

Justin and his family are known for being big in the community, but now they are hurting, and we ask that everyone and anyone donate (no matter the amount) towards medical bills, food, utilities, diapers and much more. Rae Lynn is currently holding down the fort and will be ending her maternity leave to head back to work. Unfortunately, with all the extra expenses her income alone will not be enough.

When they are back on their feet they plan to be in a position where they can “pay forward” any amount that was given to them.

Things this money will help with:

-Medical Bills and the day-to-day cost of living and daycare expenses

-Their roof needs to be replaced ASAP due to multiple leaks and they are not in the position to fix the small stuff that continues to occur by putting off the roof
