Hope For Barb

Donation protected

Hi! My name is Michelle DeStefano and I am seeking your continued support to help raise funds for my sister, Barb Barry, who was recently diagnosed with ALS at the young age of 56. Barb was given the diagnosis of ALS in May 2022. This is when the doctor told her she had 3-5 years to live. As you can imagine, Barb and our family were devastated by this news. If you are not familiar with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, there is NO cure yet and few treatment options. Here is a link to understanding ALS: https://www.als.org/understanding-als/what-is-als

Barb retired in June 2021, after working 31 years as a retail pharmacist. As a pharmacist, Barb enjoyed helping people with their health and wellness. Now, it is our turn to help her get healthy.

Barb is fighting for her life. She received treatments at Body Science in Miami, FL for several months in 2022. In February, we are heading to the Tennant Institute in Irving Texas for other alternative treatments. Both of these facilities are functional medicine. Unfortunately, insurance does not cover any costs associated with functional medicine. The cost at these facilities run about $7,500/week, not including travel, hotel, car rental, and additional testing. Barb will continue to go to the Tennant Institute for as long as she can.

Barb is also doing physical, occupational, and speech therapies. Recently, she started IV treatments locally, which she hopes will slow the progression. She is constantly researching all her treatment options and is going to try everything she can to beat this. ALS has made every day a struggle for Barb. Although she is progressing, Barb tries to focus on the positive and remains hopeful.

There are known to be 50+ ALS reversals with functional medicine treatments, although the doctors don't tell you that. Barb wants to be one of them. She is going to try everything she can to put ALS into remission. She is determined to beat this. To witness her fight this difficult disease with such a positive outlook has been inspiring. As Barb continues to fight, we will be fighting alongside her. We would be incredibly grateful if you would join us.

The money we raise helps Barb continue her functional medical treatments. With your continued support, Barb can receive treatments that could slow her progression and possibly put her into remission. The financial goal of $15,000 will help her get her next 2 weeks of treatment.

Please consider supporting Barb prayerfully, financially, or both. Our family appreciates all the support everyone has shown through this and other fundraisers we have held. We extend a sincere amount of gratitude and thanks to all of you. Please keep Barb in your thoughts and prayers. God Bless!
