Hi, my name is Whitney. I am Savannah’s sister and Jonny’s SIL, and Skylee’s Aunt. Sweet Jace was born on Saturday morning 2/17 at 35 weeks via emergent c-section from a placental abruption. He spent several days at McKay Dee Hospital until Tuesday where he was life-flighted to Primary Children’s Hospital. He was on ventilator support until he had expended all resources that were available for him. After arriving at Primary Children’s, he also maxed out their ventilators and all the additional help they could offer him. He is now on a last resort, life-support procedure called ECMO. It is a treatment that bypasses his lungs and heart and oxygenates his blood for him so he doesn’t have to work so hard. He is very heavily sedated and non-reactive right now. Things could take a turn for the worse at any moment and we are trying to get by minute-by-minute. Thank you for the outpouring of love. It means a lot to us right now. This was unexpected and is very heartbreaking please help in anyway you feel comfortable.
