My name is Shadae, and while I was born in the U.S., I am proudly of Jamaican descent. Both of my parents were born in Jamaica, and the majority of my family still lives there today. Watching the devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa has deeply affected me — homes destroyed, communities displaced, and so many lives turned upside down.
I’ve created this fundraiser to support relief and recovery efforts for those impacted by the storm. Jamaica is a place filled with love, resilience, and community, but right now, many people are in need of urgent help — food, clean water, shelter, and resources to rebuild their lives.
All proceeds from this fundraiser will go directly to The American Friends of Jamaica Foundation (AFJ) — a trusted nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting Jamaican communities through disaster relief, education, and sustainable development programs.
Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference. Please join me in helping Jamaica recover and rebuild stronger than ever.
