I'm starting a go fund me for my mother to help her financially as she continues to go through a very long, difficult medical problem.
Beginning in June of last year, my mother was diagnosed with a rare condition called Charcot foot. For those of you who don't know what this is, it is a degenerative bone disease in diabetic patients. Due to this condition, she developed a large wound in the bottom of her foot. Unfortunately, this wound had become very infected and spread into the little bone she had left, causing osteomyelitis which is an infection in the bone. Despite our greatest healing techniques and many different antibiotics, this infection will not go away.
The plan originally was to try to heal the wound and infection and reconstruct her foot back into functioning condition. Because of the Charcot and the infection, her foot is completely deformed and she has no more bone left to reconstruct. Therefore, the only option she is left with is an amputation.
She has been unable to work for quite some time and will continue to be out of work for several months that lay ahead. A big surgery like this takes a lot of time, recovery and money. Any amount that anyone can donate would be greatly appreciated. The medical bills and every day finances that continue to pile up have become very difficult to keep up with. I am hoping to spread the word and help alleviate some of the burden this awful situation has caused. Even if you cant donate, please share because as we all know every little bit helps.
Thank you all ❤
