Stand with Shane's Family in Their Time of Need

Please Help me help my family!!!

All to often we here tragic stories about people commiting suicide. What we don't cover enough or talk about here are the fallen. By fallen I mean those that attempt to commit suicide and live through their attempt.

Check on the Men in your life. Check often, look for subtle clues. Speak up and act upon your instincts before it's to late. Oh how I wish I would have known where he was in his head.

My husband was dealing with mental health demons that almost got the better of him. I had no idea he was fighting such battles. I was prompted to check on him in the middle of the night because he hadn't come to bed yet. I found him in our shop with a gun shot wound to his face. I'm not sure how much time had passed before I found him. The initial prognosis was uncertain and didn't look good. Even though he was still with us, stable and in a medically induced coma we waited wondering and praying that he would be able to wake up and not have suffered ireversable brain damage. From the moment i found him being un certain of our future I mourned my husband, the loss of my family unit, my closest and best friend, and the main income source of our house that night. I was totally unprepared for how hard and how much strength the next months and years will require of us. Our lives will never be the same again, but we are so blessed to still be living them.

My Husband has undergone several life saving and reconstructive surgeries as well as needing several more to sure up the use of his mouth and throat. It appears he has suffered some extent of brain damage. He currently has a feeding tube and a trachea tube that will stay in place until they can perform several more surgeries to try and make his mouth more functional. His body isn't healing as well as they had hoped due to the truama it suffered,

and he has been doing hyperbaric treatments daily for over four months now. They installed a titanium plate as well as bone, tissue, skin, muscle, and arteries from his hips and arms to his face and neck. The transplant sight has been failing and will most likely need intervention in order to not undue all of the progress he has made. Prayers and blessings for strength and healing for all those touched by this experience please.

Shane has been our only source of income for some time now. Do to health issues of my own I am no longer able to work. Putting an even greater burden on Shane's shoulders.

Shane is a very loving father to 5 kids ranging in age from 9-24 all of which are still living at home.

Between medical bills, gas money for appointments in SLC and Ogden regularly, living expenses, and future surgeries and hospital stays we are drowning in debt. We would love any help you may be able or willing to offer us. Whether it's help with expenses, or thoughts and prayers on our behalf.
