RUBY NEEDS URGENT MEDICAL CARE

We are not ones who feel comfortable asking for financial assistance but we are putting our pride aside because we are in a dire situation.

As we write this, our precious Ruby is getting blood drained from around her heart. Last night she was her bubble silly self, and this morning everything changed. We found her, exhausted on the floor, with no urge to eat (those who know Ruby know how concerning that was for us).

She has been diagnosed with pericardial effusion. This means there is fluid buildup around her heart. The heart struggles to pump within the pressure that the fluid build up in the sac (called the pericardium), increasing her heart rate and limiting blood flow to areas far away from her heart, such as her back legs.

After over 7 hours at different vets and numerous consults with gracious veterinarians, we realize that our sweet girl needs serious medical attention, and fast.
