Medical help for Pericles the Great Dane (Service dog)
"Pericles" Our sweet and goofy service dog Great Dane baby, covertly stole a plush toy out of the cat toy box, unfortunately he ingested it which caused an intestinal blockage, this was two weeks ago and he has been in ICU at the Emergency vet clinic since fighting for his life.
He had the foreign body removed along with a large 14 3/4 inches of intestine. He is still not able to take on food as he only vomits it back up. They are putting a feed tube in to not only clear out the excess fluids from his stomach but also to get nutrition in so as to encourage his intestine to start working again so that he can safely reduce the fluid build up himself.
This puppy is not yet one year old, he is the sweetest soul ever and we had hoped to have many years with him. Unfortunately this accident could rob us of that, we are trying as best we can to save him but it comes at such a price.
Any help would be a welcome blessing to say the least, but please at least pray for him and for our strength to get through this.
Thank you so much
Pericles, Sarah, Kevin and the Mason-McDonald Triplets, Aeva, Bronwyn and Celeste, we all miss our baby boy terribly.
