Parriott Funeral Travel Expenses

On Wednesday, August 12, our dear friend Troy Parriott received the call no one ever wants to receive. His brother, Eric, had died suddenly and unexpectedly at his residence in Colorado.
Eric was the oldest of the Parriott boys and was deeply loved and admired by his three younger siblings, Aaron, Troy and Shane. Along with his three brothers, Eric has left behind his grief stricken mother. The four, all of whom live and are well respected in the Jensen Beach and Okeechobee areas of Florida, are heartbroken over this tragic loss.
Eric’s wife is making funeral service and burial arrangements in Colorado. The high cost of airfare and lodging to be present for these services make it impossible for the Parriott families in Florida to attend. This is why we, Troy’s friends, have initiated this GoFundMe outreach.
We want to make sure that these brothers- Aaron, Troy and Shane-, their wives and most of all, their mom, are present when Eric is laid to his final resting place in Colorado.
We estimate the cost of a three day stay for seven people as follows:
The cost of airfare to and from Denver is averaging around $500.00 per round trip ticket. For seven people, that’s $3,500 in airfare.
For lodging, we would like to provide four hotel rooms- one for the three boys and their wives and one for Mrs. Parriott- for a total of 3 nights. Hotel room costs vary but we believe that a no frills but nice hotel room in Denver can be had for at or below $125.00 per night. The total for lodging would be $1500.00.
They would need to rent a 7 passenger van. Average rental costs for a van or large SUV in Denver run at or below $150/day so for three days we estimate a total of $450.00.
And then we would like to provide them with money for meals. Estimating meals at or below $15 per meal, we would need $945.00 to feed them.
All total, we would like to raise $6,500.00 to cover ALL these costs plus a little extra for any unexpected expenses that they may incur in their travels such as gas to top of the rental van when it's returned.
To do this, we need you, the friends, co-workers, fellow parishioners, and neighbors of this wonderful family to chip in whatever you can. No amount is too small or large. Every little bit helps. Please consider opening your hearts and wallets to help this grieving family attend the funeral of their beloved son and brother.
