Help My Family Rebuild After a Devastating Fire

Hi, my name is Samaly. I’m reaching out because my family and I are going through one of the hardest times of our lives. Recently, our house burned down and we lost everything. One of the hardest parts of this tragedy was losing our beloved dog, Robbie. He was 8 years old and so much more than just a pet, he was our family. When the fire broke out, we hoped and prayed that he would somehow make it through. But when the firefighters finally found him, it broke us. Robbie was hiding under my sister’s bed, which was his safe place. By the time they reached him, it was too late, there was nothing anyone could do to save him. It’s hard to put into words how much it hurts to know that he was alone and afraid in his final moments. We’re completely heartbroken. Our other dog, Kaiizo, also fought for his life during the fire. He suffered burns on his lips, nose, eyes, and paws. At one point, Kaiizo wasn’t breathing, and we thought we had lost him too. But thanks to the quick actions of the LAFD, who performed CPR and gave him oxygen and water, Kaiizo was brought back to life. He needs more care and follow-up treatments to make sure he fully recovers. This loss is something we’re still trying to process, and it’s been incredibly difficult to cope with losing Robbie while also trying to take care of Kaiizo and rebuild everything we lost. Besides losing our home and our dog, we also lost all our belongings: clothes, essentials, everything. Right now, we’re just trying to find a place to stay and replace what we can. It’s been overwhelming, but we’re staying strong for each other. We’ve set up this GoFundMe to help cover Kaiizo’s medical expenses and help us get back on our feet.
