Dearest friends and family,
I’m going to HAITI this month!!! I will be going on a missions trip to Haiti for 9 days for an orphan prevention project. My heart has been yearning to go to Haiti for about a year now and it's finally happening!!!
HOW IT ALL BEGAN:
Last year, I met a couple named Isabel and Greg Stigge who shared at ACF (Asian Christian Fellowship) at Western. Isabel shared about being the founder of a Business as Missions called Little By Little. In 2009, she volunteered at an orphanage and witnessed Haitian mothers trying to give up their children. Surprisingly enough, 80% of the children at orphanages have a family member living down the street or in the village; but their family just can’t support them. The mothers thought their only option is to give up their children. So Isabel decided to give them another option by starting Little by Little to employ mothers; to train and empower them to support their own family; to promote sustainability; to prevent orphaning people; and to show God’s love by providing for the poor in tangible ways.
WHAT WE WILL BE DOING:
These ladies have been trained to make jewellery and miscellaneous items such as metal art and Christmas ornaments. Most of these ladies have never held a pairof scissors before.
We will be...
-honing their skills
-teaching them to make new designs
-showing God’s love through caring for them
-bringing back items to be sold in Toronto, London, Online (aka shipping)
WHY THIS TRIP MEANS SO MUCH TO ME:
This trip means a lot to me because this might be a glimpse of my future in Haiti!
What exactly this will look like is still all up in the air, but I have a desire to live in Haiti for about one to two years, Godwillingly in the future. Isabel and I hope to implement a family centre in Haiti; where we would be working alongside of an established church in Haiti.

I’d like to share every moment with you, making you feel like you were right there with me in Haiti. I will also be posting updates for my future pursuits of working for Little By Little fulltime, whether in London or in Haiti.

Prayer requests:
-protection of God's armour...since the practice of voodoo is very common in Haiti.
-health and safety....Recently, there is the Zika virus in Haiti. Isabel and I can get sick from it but moreover, the virus can cause deformities in the babies of pregnant women. We have about 15 women working for us, chances are one of them are pregnant or will become pregnant.
3) I would really appreciate it if you could financially support me within the capacity that you can.
Your support would make a big difference!
-cost of my trip is roughly $1000
-costs of mosquito nets and DEET mosquito repellents
