Support Shannon's Fight Against Breast Cancer

Hi friends and community, my name is Morgan and I'm making this GoFundMe on behalf of my mother Shannon Johnson, who was unexpectedly diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer on February 17, 2024.

Luckily it was caught quickly, and the medical team worked to create a care plan and she received a partial mastectomy on March 25, 2024, nearly a month after her initial diagnosis.

My mother has had to take off an extensive amount of work to recover from her surgery, which includes her full-time work as well as her part-time jobs, resulting in an extreme loss of wages and has caused an unimaginable amount of stress during her recovery period. She's also had to take a significant amount of time off work the last two months to go to appointments with her surgeon, oncologist, etc, which has additionally resulted in a huge pain financially as she's had no available paid time off.

There's currently a disability waiting period and as of April 1st, she's lost her secondary insurance which will add a huge weight to her ongoing bills. She's essentially recovering with no income right now, and could use a lot of support from her community to give her the security she needs towards her essential bills and upcoming medicals. Everyone who knows my mother knows she's a giving, caring, nurturing individual with a heart of gold. Let's give some more love to her during a time where she needs it the most!
