My 8 year old niece, Kayden, had brain surgery on October 7th. Kayden had this necessary surgery due to Chiari malformation of the brain. After 2 MRI's, a Syrinx (cyst in the spine) was noted, which required surgery at the cerebellum. This would relieve the pressure in her spine before it could cause neurological damage. Recovery will require 4 weeks of rest at home. 

My sister, Katie, does not have paid time off from work, so anything you could contribute would go towards medical bills, travel expenses to and from the doctors in LA. and allowing Katie to take more time off from work.

Kayden is a strong little girl who will pull through, but recovery can be very painful. It's important that Kayden has her mom with her as much as possible while she recovers. I know with the love and support of our friends and family, Kayden will recover quickly and go back to being the bubbly, happy, loveable little girl we all know and love so much.
