Help My Parents Rebuild Their Home

Hello, my name is Nicole. My brother Nick and I are writing on behalf of our parents, Bobbi and Doug. Their home was recently devastated by the storm in Eastern Pennsylvania on September 1st. This is our family home—where we watched our younger siblings grow up and raised our children. This home has touched generations of our family.

Since the evening of the storm, our father has been working non-stop to clean up as much as he can and coordinate with contractors to reconnect the electricity and cable, remove about 30 trees that fell on the house and across the property, and assess and fix the roof and interior storm damage. The contractors are predicting it could take at least a year to fix their home.

As of now, it will cost $50,000 to just remove the trees. We are expecting the total cost of the clean-up and renovations to be above $200,000, and the insurance company is only agreeing to cover a fraction.

With our mother disabled, our parents live on a single-person income. Our parents are already concerned about having enough to cover the mortgage, pay other bills, and buy groceries.

Our parents have done everything for their children and grandchildren, so we wanted to do one thing for them—reach out to our community of family and friends for support. Any amount you can donate will help.

The funds will be used to cover the costs outlined above. The funds will go directly to our parents through GoFundMe.
