If you ask little Ms. Emily Ceballos what her favorite thing to do is, she’ll definitely tell you it’s DANCING!!!! Little Emily, 13, battles a rare disease called Ataxia Telangiectasia, and that makes it hard to stand or walk sometimes, which led her to use a wheelchair. But when a physical therapy program loaned her this gait trainer for a while, she found that she CAN DANCE and walk AGAIN. She’d LOVE to have a gait trainer of her own just like this one. This type of gait trainer costs around $5,000, and insurance has denied covering this item. This Rifton XL gait trainer gives her the mobility and freedom to do what she loves most. It’s been loaned to the family for a short time, however they would like to purchase one for Emily for good.

The Ceballos family lives in California, and are overwhelmed with many health cirucmstances in the family at this time. When we saw Cheryl Ceballos’ video of her daughter Emily dancing, and heard her story, we knew lots of people would like to make that happen for this little angel.

Her mother Cheryl Ceballos stated, “Emily was hospitalized for complications of Covid at the beginning of the year, but my AT Warrior has come a long way! Here she is dancing her heart out to “Boom Boom” by Momoland. Her first try while standing up. It’s worth mentioning how grateful we are for CCS Clairemont in loaning her this gait trainer. This gives her more independence and allows her to stand and walk even for a short time. Unfortunately, it is not covered by our insurance and I’m still trying so hard to make it happen. Seeing my daughter so happy when she can stand up, move and groove to her favorite beats, makes it worth fighting for.”
