Joshua and Joey Gara need your help!

My name is Joshua Gara. On June 7th, 2020, Ellen Gara, my Mother, took her own life.
Tragically, my brother and I lost our mother with no warning, and in a Pandemic with no end in sight. The cost of handling her loss, along with the emotional toll has crippled both my little brother’s life as well as my own. Not only did I work for my Mother’s private practice which has now been shutdown in the wake of her sudden death, both of us our now struggling to pay legal and filing fees on our mother’s estate, as well as money for funeral cost, gravestone and leftover bills and loans. Unfortunately, my mother had large, crippling debts despite her years of dedication helping others better their lives as a psychologist in the behavioral health field. The bereavement and constant family turmoil that has resulted will most likely linger for years to come, if not for the rest of our lives. Out of pocket expenses for emotional counseling and overnight inheritance of bills, including our health insurance, we were not responsible for has only compounded this tragedy into hopelessness. Joey and I have lost our mother, and due to the nature of her passing, many times it feels we have both lost the will to go on, and I worry if we have the agency to both emotionally and financially stabilize our lives. 2020 not only upended lives across the globe in the wake of an unprecedented pandemic, it will forever be the year we lost our lifeline, our mother and our best friend.
We appeal to you to send a donation to our fundraiser, and we will appreciate it very much. My sister has already started a separate fundraiser, that is solely for her needs, which are different than ours, (e.g., moving costs) which have no bearing on my brother and I. A special thank you to my uncle Jon Ball for helping put together this gofundme.
