Jeff Pagano, our beloved partner, friend, brother, was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer in mid September and is currently going to begin the 2nd part of his treatments after undergoing two months of intensive radiation & chemotherapy treatments in an attempt to reduce the size of the cancer mass prior to a surgical procedure to remove it. Though scans have shown it hasn’t yet spread elsewhere, every moment is crucial in his battle.

As part of both the Memphis and New Orleans music community for over two and a half decades, his work has been a source of inspiration for many of us. If you know Jeff, you know he has an unparalleled work ethic as an artist who is constantly working to better his art and consistently striving toward perfecting his craft. He’s had the opportunity to play with and have his original compositions played by some of the best musicians in both cities and plans to continue composing and playing for years to come. But in order to make that happen, he needs our help. Medical bills and the cost to simply live during the treatments he must face comes to an exorbitant amount. He has wonderful people who love him for support but they need our help to ensure that he has space and time to focus on treatment and recovery. This journey towards reclaiming his health will take time. Months, possibly even years. He’s had to put a pause on working at the New Orleans Public Library where he’s been employed for nearly fifteen years and so has very little income at this time. If you know Jeff, you know he lives a fairly minimalist lifestyle, but even that takes on a financial burden over time. We, his friends and loved ones, are reaching out to you asking for your support in helping Jeff lighten this hardship as much as possible. Please give what you can. Anything helps. There is no amount too little to ease the burdens he must and will face over these next few months including rides to his nearly daily hospital appointments, nutritional foods, medicines, housing costs and more. We are blessed to have him here with us and with your support we will strengthen the reserves he must have in order to face the lengthy battle ahead.
