Elizalde's Road to Recovery
Donation protected
On Monday, July 20th Jason wasn't feeling like his normal self. His wife Megan asked him several questions to try to determine if he may have had a stroke due to some numbness he was feeling in his body. After she questioned him, she felt it would be best to take him to the hospital to be evaluated. It was there that they determined he had experienced a stroke, which caused a brain bleed and a brain aneurysm. He needed to be life flighted to U of U Hospital to get emergency treatment ASAP! Megan had to make the tough decision of doing an invasive head surgery or a coil surgery through the groin. Both were risky and had their own complications, but the head surgery would give the doctors a better chance of assessing the damage and what they could do to prevent it from happening again in the future. It is now the morning of July 22nd and Jason's first morning out of surgery. He is able to say his name, stand up, eat a meal and do therapy. It looks like he is on the road to a great recovery. He will have to remain at the U of U Hospital for 3 weeks for 24/7 observation.
During this time, he will be out of work, he has no insurance and no paid time off. Megan is taking this week off as well w/out pay to help support him. She will return to work, however, she is still very concerned about how they will make ends meet this month. They have a 4 year old daughter, Miley, who is staying with family during the next 3 weeks to help lighten some of Megan's burden.
Jason and Megan were the type of people who would help anyone in their time of need and now it is them who need our help and support! We are trying to assist with not only their monthly bills, but also some of the hospital bills that they will be incurring. Anything you can donate will be appreciated more than you know. Please keep the Elizaldes in your prayers and thoughts!!
